Live Life - Renal Care Program
End stage renal disease (ESRD) is a life threatening condition which occurs when kidneys stop functioning. ESRD cannot be cured. Renal disease is growing rapidly in India because of the high prevalence of diabetes and heart disease, which are the root causes for ESRD. However, there are two renal replacement therapy options available viz, kidney transplant and maintenance dialysis. Dialysis is a process of removing waste products from the body by simulating the functioning of the kidneys. Most patients have to do dialysis throughout their lives unless kidney transplantation can be done. Heamodialysis (HD) is the machine dialysis therapy, wherein a patient’s blood is cleaned outside the body.
Making dialysis affordable.
It is estimated that over 3/4th of the people suffering from ESRD in India do not get treated at all, largely due to lack of awareness of the disease and treatment options, inadequate access to care and above all affordability.
Inauguration of Dialysis Centre

The Live Life dialysis centre was inaugurated by Rtn.G. Olivannan, District Governor - 2010-11, R.I. Dist 3230 in the presense of Mr.M.V. Subbiah, Managing Trustee, AMM Foundation.
Facilities at the Centre

The centre is equipped with 3 dialysis machines with all accessories. An effeciant RO plant supplies cleansed water to the centre.
